You can undo an update. snapshots
Every update and every pacman run takes a Btrfs snapshot first. graphite rollback N puts things back, or boot an old snapshot straight from GRUB.
Nessalk Industries
A one-person software studio by Mathias Klassen. The flagship is Graphite OS: a simple but powerful Linux that is yours, customizable, and personal.
I'm Mathias Klassen. I work as a CNC machinist and build software on the side under Nessalk Industries.
Machining teaches you to care about tolerances, good tooling, and setups you can trust. I bring the same habits to software: build it properly, keep it understandable, and don't ship things that get in your way.
Nessalk Industries is the name I put on that work. Right now that mostly means Graphite OS, the Linux setup I wanted for myself: Arch underneath, set up my way, and easy to change.
A simple but powerful Linux that is yours, customizable, and personal.
Graphite OS is my own Arch Linux distribution with Hyprland, ready for gaming and programming from the first boot. It ships with Btrfs snapshots you can boot from GRUB, LUKS2 disk encryption, a Quickshell desktop, a graphical installer, and six themes, so you get a finished desktop without giving up what makes Arch good.
Every update and every pacman run takes a Btrfs snapshot first. graphite rollback N puts things back, or boot an old snapshot straight from GRUB.
Hyprland 0.56 with the Quickshell bar, a Super+Space launcher, notifications, kitty, a firewall and zram, set up before you log in.
Same pacman, same repos, same wiki. Graphite's own packages come from a signed repo, and every install and update checks the signatures.
Configs live in ~/.config. Re-run the installer and anything you changed is kept as a .bak file.
Steam, Lutris, Wine, MangoHud and GameMode, plus git, Neovim, VS Code, Python, Rust, Node and Docker. graphite gpu setup picks your graphics drivers.
Updates the system, takes a snapshot first and runs any pending fixes. graphite help lists the rest.
Planned for a few updates from now, once the core OS is finished. No date yet. A local Qwen model by default, with Grok as an optional cloud upgrade.
The installer puts everything on LUKS2. You type your passphrase once at boot.
Switching recolours Hyprland, the bar, the terminal, the launcher and the lock screen live. You can also make one from your wallpaper.
Alpha, Oct 31 build (2026.10.31, 3.0 GB ISO). So far it's only been tested in virtual machines, and the installer erases the disk you pick. Hardware reports from real PCs are the most useful thing right now.
No dates. It gets done when it gets done.
Most people who want Arch don't want to spend a weekend configuring it first. Graphite skips that part without hiding anything.
Defaults that work, with the full system still underneath when you want it.
It's your machine. Your configs live in ~/.config, and graphite sync takes them along with no cloud.
Chosen because they work day to day, not because they look good in a screenshot.
Open source, honest status, and no promised dates I can't keep.
Fewer things, done well, with you in control. Quality over shipping volume.
Arch Linux with Hyprland, set up for gaming and programming, with bootable snapshots, LUKS2 encryption and a graphical installer. Alpha, Oct 31 build.
Other tools will show up here when they're worth using. Same rules: already set up, fully yours, easy to change.
People who want capable software that respects them: a Linux desktop that's ready to use, that they fully control, and that they can change without fighting it.
It is Arch underneath, with the same pacman and repos. On top you get a guided installer, LUKS2 encryption, Btrfs snapshots with rollback, Hyprland already configured, six themes and the graphite command.
Honestly: it's a one-person studio. Nessalk Industries is my personal side project, built alongside a full-time machining job, that I'm growing into an umbrella for the software I make.

Yes, eventually. No dates. It gets done when it gets done.
